Well the Alberta Provincial Election is only 6 days away - YAHOO!.....for anyone who doesn't know...Jon was working for the Taber-Cardston-Warner MLA, Paul Hinman, as a communications guy. When an election is called all MLA's are "laid off" since you can't work for the Legistalive Assembly and for your Party at the same time (Something like that) so Jon had a choice...he could continue working for the Legislative Assembly but pretty much have nothing to do, or he could take a Leave and work for the Party - Wildrose Alliance. Well after much prayer and contemplation , we decided he should go work for the party....which means that he has spent most of the month of February in Cardston (he has been up for a couple days here and there).
With only 6 days to the election it means my husband will be home again! I'm quite excited about that....it also means that he may be jobless if Paul doesn't get re-elected, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Well that's about all for now from the Iverson's.......

The "Big" Day - The temple

More often than not moments in life are better than you could have ever imagined, that is true of my wedding day.
We awoke early to go and decorate the gym where we were going to have our family dinner, now since I am no decorator I relied heavily on my mom and brother....thank goodness for them! They made everything look spectacular!
After trying to get beautified, off to the temple I went. Jon and I didn't have to think twice about which temple we wanted to get married in; Cardston Alberta. As we were both growing up this was the only temple in our respective areas and we both grew to love it. It was the perfect place to make those sacred covanents. My mom and I arrived before Jon did and those few moments waiting for him went by so very slow, even so I had no doubt that he would show.
The ceremony was beautiful, tears were shed, hearts were knit, loved expressed. What more can a girl ask for? Other than the actual ceremony my most favourite moment was being able to look back at my mom standing in the bridal suite knowing that because of her example and teachings that I was able to stand in the House of the Lord and be sealed to Jon. It was truly an amazing experience.

Planning the Wedding
I was never going to be one of "those girls" who had only dated for a couple of months and then got engaged and then got married right after. I was going to be a good girl and do it "right" long courtship short engagement was always the way to go....at least in my brain.....well things never quite work out they way "they're suppose to" do they?
Jon & I were torn when it came to picking a wedding date. There were rumors that an election might be called, and he works for an MLA, his brother was also getting married in England at the end of December and Jon had been asked to be best man. So the question became....can we afford to get married in December and the have both of us go to England??? After much thought and prayer we decided that it could work (and man we are glad as the election is right when our second choice was).
So December 15th, 2007 became our date. I'm sure that my mom thought I was nuts...not only had our dating experience been short...we were only going to have just 3 months to plan a wedding. I had faith that it could be done.
The planning went pretty good, but only because I have the BEST family ever!!!!! My mom pretty much took the things that I had mentioned for decorations and turned it into more that I could have asked for....especially since I hadn't boughten enough material. Jon made the invitations. Because of all the help, things went pretty smoothly....I think.

Getting Engaged
I had almost given up on the fact that I would ever get married, but Heavenly Father knows better and has a different time table than I and man I am sure glad He does. Jon has been a gift.
On September 17, 2007 Jon took me on a trip down his memory lane. We drove down to Wetaskiwin, where he grew up, and he took me to the schools he went to, where he played hockey as a child, the house he grew up in. We then drove to this field over by the house and got out and looked at the stars. He said that he shared with me parts of his past and he was hoping that he could share the rest of eternity with me. I of course said yes!!!!
Jon has been the greatest gift Heavenly Father could ever give me and I am truly thankful that as tough as it was I was able to wait until now.

Where it all began.......
Well I've finally joined the blogging world. Who knew...... So I've officially been married for 2 months.....and man it's been great! I thought that I'd let everyone know where it all began.
So Jon and I have known each other for years. He and Logan were roomates ages ago...before Logan went on a mission. After Logan got home from serving the mission he and Jon were roomates again and I was in the same ward. We each knew who each other was, but there was never anything there. Jon disappeared down to Cardston and I kept working up here in Edmonton. Then in the summer Jon moved back up to Edmonton and was looking to re-connect with those he might know. Facebook was helpful here. We went on a couple of dates and the rest is history
